Erin Debono, MS
Pre-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
SHE/HER
Erin has completed her Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Purdue University Northwest and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. Her Illinois licensure is in process and she's willing and able to see clients!
Erin appreciates that therapy is a vulnerable place and utilizes a client-centered, culturally humble approach to help provide everyone with a safe and comfortable experience. She believes in meeting clients where they are and respecting that their lived experience exists within the larger context of the systems and relationships that shape their reality.
Erin prioritizes the therapist-client relationship as the foundation for therapeutic change. She understands that life presents many challenges and that coping with them is not a “one-size-fits-all” endeavor. Working with individuals, couples, and relational systems, she practices from an insight-oriented, experiential lens to help clients navigate their lives and, in particular, their relationships. She believes in the power of mindfulness, self-compassion, and effective communication to create lasting change, especially to improve self-esteem, manage anxiety, and process difficult experiences. She has completed Gottman Level 1 and 2 Training.
In her free time, Erin enjoys baking and yoga. She loves dogs, listening to music, and going to bed before 9:30.
